I was a graduate student at BIOLA University in La Mirada, California when the Pastor of the church I attended suggested I visit “Blueprint” when he heard that I was relocating to Atlanta. Times were hard for me in Cali, especially since I’d moved there with no friends or family two weeks after receiving my bachelor’s degree in Florida. I moved to Atlanta to live with Mom, not intending to stay in Atlanta for long, but then I visited Blueprint and was immediately astonished at how precise the Lord had answered my prayers for a such a specific church home! Oh, and I have three older brothers spread between Florida and South Carolina (I’m the baby).

As an intern, I welcome and connect with our first-time guests through e-mail and phone, that their questions may be answered and they have opportunity to share their interests and personal prayer requests. As a branch of the Connect Team, I also oversee the NextSteps meetings for those who have questions about Blueprint, are interested in getting plugged into and to walk alongside those that desire to become members of Blueprint Church. Romans 8:15 // For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

Being that I prayed for a church like Blueprint during my time California, I love Blueprint because it embraces the Arts; more than the arts, though, I love that I have learned how to study, read, and appreciate Scripture for the truth that it is. Being able to experience Titus 2 in such a community of believers that are on mission for the Lord has been challenging, encouraging, and all-around amazing.

Prior to Christ, I lived close to seven years of my life as a homosexual, plowing in and out of drugs and alcohol three out of my four years of college. An old co-worker, who at the time was a new believer, let me know when I asked, that God loved me but hated my sin. His persistent invitations to church led me to hearing from God on my own and from that very moment, I surrendered to Jesus as Lord and Savior over my life.
